THE OVERVIEW / DETAILS:
As one of the hottest growing partners to an informed movement practice, self-massage, and ball rolling is now being used in yoga studios, CrossFit boxes, and physical therapy sessions. The Deep Dive “Sacrum to Crown” session looks at our sacred spinal column from its very root to its peak. But, it’s not just the spine that lives on this path, it’s our entire breathing apparatus, our circulatory apparatus, our digestive and reproductive systems, and a system of nerves that run a direct line of communication to our brain and impact our ability to reduce stress, down-regulate and engage in deep, restorative self-care.
This session is designed to reinforce our understanding of anatomy and how our body is designed to move, and then explore self-massage and modern movement techniques that can help reduce pain in the body, while improving posture and performance. Learn not just how to roll, but how to design a rolling sequence with a particular goal in mind and pair that sequence with smart movement techniques to bring the body into a better state of balance.
There will be pre-recorded content that will be sent to participants.
This course is eligible for 15 hours credits toward the JOY of Yoga 300 Hour Teacher Training. Or 15 CEU hours for the Yoga Alliance.
This session can provide tremendous insight for
Everyone...yes, everyone!
Jobs/Lifestyle Types: Those who sit or stand too much in static (non-moving) positions. Many of us live in a mechanical environment that doesn't challenge the muscles to support the spine - and, therefore, not only posture, but breathing quality are compromised.
Activities: Pretty much any sport that moves the spine, torso, and/or neck; those who want to improve breathing quality and capacity (runners/swimmers/athletes of any kind); those who want to improve their back bends, rotational capacity, and posture.
Pain / Disfunction: Back pain, scar tissue, emotional pain (depression/anxiety), digestive, and breathing disorders.
